The ca. 1496–ca. 1498 has the identical dedication to the Catholic Monarchs that is found in the 1494 edition. Although the witness lacks a colophon or printer’s device, it is definitely the work of Hurus. The range of possible printing dates, 1496 to 1498, that has been posited for this edition is plausible. The Hurus-produced princeps of the Thesoro appeared late in 1494 (October). It is unlikely that Hurus would have produced a reprint in 1495, when he was already printing Li’s Reportorio de los tiempos, Manuel Díaz’s Libro de albeitería, as well as four other books, and also before the popularity of the Thesoro de la passion had been established.
